With two restaurants, in Sagayah and Riffa, this eatery offers some of the most authentic Turkish fare in Bahrain.
The comfortable chairs are decked out in funky newsprint cloth and traditional Turkish images and some of the tables are arranged around a central grill, allowing diners to cook meats to their own preference. This is a particular favourite for those wanting to experience something a little different, while a pretty outside terrace is the perfect place to gather with friends or family.
Guzel introduces a touch of Turkish history with dishes such as Dolma Bahja, created when the best chefs competed to produce the most delicious fare for the Sultan and his guests. There are also traditional specialities from various regions including Sultan Ahmed Chicken, cooked in a salted oven Tuzda Tavuk, and Wali Claypot – kebabs prepared in a claypot.
The extensive menu offers traditional breakfast items as well as great desserts such as Sultan Hurrem Pudding and Princess Maiden. And Guzel also offers takeaway and delivery, with substantial discounts for regular customers.
